Vinyl
Self Adhesive Vinyl (SAV), or sticky back plastic is one of the most versatile materials in large format print which can fold, stick and bend it’s way into any job. After vinyl is delivered from the manufacturers, we take it through various processes before it leaves in a very different form, having experienced one or both of the following processes; printing or cutting.
Cut vinyl is when shapes, letters or patterns are cut from pre-coloured SAV using our vinyl cutter. This is a plotter type machine which drags a tiny blade around the surface of the vinyl, just cutting through the top layer. Cut vinyl comes in vast plethora of solid colours which often exceed the colour gamut of regular CMYK or Hexachrome printing. It’s also available in a range of effects such as frosted, fluorescent/reflective, brushed aluminium effect, carbon fibre and many, many more.
Printed vinyl is the art of printing onto, you guessed it, vinyl. This creates a sticky-back poster that would often be square cut go on a window, wall, mounted board or to wrap around a vehicle.
However, if we mix the two it gives us the ability to print your artwork, then profile cut it to shape. Known as print and cut, it opens up vast possibilities for display use on vehicles, window graphics and other applications.
The most common place you’ll find vinyl is on a shop window or a company van, but with a bit of imagination it can be used to stunning effect. Create huge indoor murals, brand your mugs, put it on a t-shirt, make an eyeball, cover a toilet door with it, the possibilities are endless!
