One Day Ahead
Posted 20 Feb 2012
The Tour de France is one of the most gruelling sports events in the world, covering 2200 miles over three weeks. That’s the equivalent of cycling from London to Birmingham every day for three weeks. So the idea or riding it for fun would require you to be a little bit… well… mad.
So, a guy called Jamie Anderson has been in touch with us because he and a group equally mad cyclists are actually going to cycle the full 2012 Tour de France. But instead of being members of a professional team, they’re simply going to cover each stage one day before the main race does. And they’re not just doing it for the kicks, they’re aiming to raise over £100,000 for charity through doing this. This mission of theirs is called One Day Ahead.
Sound Print became involved through a plea by Jamie on the Design Forums for someone to design a poster. They need something that can help advertise One Day Ahead in bike shops and other locations, to raise the profile. We stepped in offering to create the artwork and supply 50 A2 posters free of charge, to help towards the cause.
Below is a snap of the posters, printed on a 200gsm satin paper, ready to be packed up. We’ll keep you updated on One Day Ahead’s progress as it happens!
